LUMINOUS OBJECTS-
Light That Represents My Design Journey
My college design journey has been a very special part of my life. When I started studying design, I was excited to create new things, but I did not realize how much I would learn about myself along the way. Design has taught me that creativity is not only about making something look beautiful. It is also about solving problems, trying new ideas, working with other people, and learning from mistakes.

One of the biggest things I have learned in college is problem-solving. During my projects, things did not always work the way I imagined. Sometimes the materials were difficult to use, or my first idea did not look or function the way I wanted. At first, these problems could feel frustrating. However, I slowly learned to be patient and look for another solution. I learned that making mistakes is a normal part of the design process. Every mistake helped me understand what I could improve and encouraged me to try again.
I have also learned a lot about teamwork. Working with my classmates showed me that everyone has different ideas and ways of thinking. Sometimes we agreed, and sometimes we had different opinions. However, listening to each other helped us understand new perspectives and create better ideas. I learned that working as a team does not mean that everyone has to think the same way. It means sharing ideas, supporting each other, and finding a solution together.
My luminous object is a very personal design because it is inspired by my pet parrot. My parrot brings happiness and energy into my life, so I wanted to include that feeling in my design. I created the image of my parrot flying above the luminous object. The flying parrot represents freedom, happiness, and having the courage to follow my dreams.
For the wings, I created a paper lantern inspired by the shape and movement of wings. I wanted the paper to feel light and delicate, just like a bird’s wings. When the light shines through the paper, it creates a warm and soft glow. For me, this light represents the positive experiences I have had during college.
The luminous object is not only a design project to me. It represents my journey. The light reminds me of the knowledge and confidence I have gained. The wings remind me to keep moving forward, even when things are difficult. My parrot represents the happiness and inspiration that I carry with me.
Looking at my luminous object makes me feel proud because I can see a small part of my life and personality in it. College has taught me that design is not always about creating something perfect. It is about creating something meaningful.
My luminous object gives me a feeling that my life can always become brighter. Just like the light shines through the paper wings, I hope my creativity, experiences, and dreams will continue to bring light into my future.
